Sensor Tower's analysis reveals the performance trends of the top five wellness apps in Australia for Q1 2021. The data shows user engagement and download patterns on a unified platform.
In the first quarter of 2021, Australians showed significant engagement with wellness apps, as reflected in the latest data from Sensor Tower. Among the top contenders were Headspace: Sleep & Meditation, Calm, Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker, Smiling Mind: Meditation App, and Sleep Cycle - Sleep Tracker.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation saw a revenue trend that started at around $57K in the last week of December 2020 and peaked at approximately $86K in mid-February before closing the quarter at about $75K. Downloads for Headspace surged to nearly 22K in mid-January but gradually tapered off to slightly over 10K by the end of March. Weekly active users reached almost 98K in early January, with a slight decrease to around 86K by the quarter's end.
Calm exhibited a revenue pattern that increased to over $108K in the last week of March from about $61K at the beginning of the period. Downloads peaked at almost 20K in early January, followed by a general downward trend to just under 10K by March's end. The app's weekly active users showed a high of over 122K in the first week of January, ending the quarter with just under 100K.
Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker demonstrated a revenue journey that grew from around $6K to a high of $19K by the close of the quarter. Downloads saw a peak of over 9K in mid-January and a rise to more than 8K in the final week of March. The weekly active users for Fabulous showed a steady increase from about 24K to approximately 35K throughout the quarter.
Smiling Mind: Meditation App had no revenue to report, but downloads saw an uptick from around 2.6K to 6.2K in late January, then decreased to just over 3K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users were relatively stable, starting at around 18K and dipping to approximately 18K in the last week of March.
Sleep Cycle - Sleep Tracker recorded a revenue trend beginning at about $11K and reaching approximately $17K in early March, with a slight fall to around $15K to finish the quarter. Downloads remained fairly consistent, with a modest peak of nearly 5K in the last week of January. Weekly active users for Sleep Cycle grew from about 62K to over 71K in early February, followed by a decrease to around 65K by March end.
